Ten Degrees, Croydon
SASGO is honoured to have supported with the supply of floor preparation materials on this record-breaking project, totalling 41,819m2. It is the world’s tallest modular building at 135m-tall, made up of 1500 modules.
The design and construction involved a variety of modern techniques, including the use of virtual reality and 3D printing for rapid prototyping at planning stage, and creating an angled modular façade.
The project, built by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems, and designed by architect HTA, consists of 546 homes in a pair of 38- and 44-storey towers. The floor finishes were all supplied to the floor layer by the main contractor, so the materials that the flooring contractor needed support on was all the floor preparation and smoothing materials. Floor smoothing compound, feather coat, repair mortar and primers were supplied on call-off as the project ran, ensuring that although large quantities of materials were needed, they could be delivered to site as needed, and according to the just-in-time schedule of works that the installer was working to.
It was fantastic to be trusted by the flooring contractor to meet the demands of the supply on this project where both reliable products, and reliable service was paramount. This is a famous project that our customer was proud to have secured, and a perfect delivery was non-negotiable. Once again, SASGO are proud to have played our part, and we would like to make a particular shout to our sales and customer service team, but also to our operations team who made the delivery process seamless.
With this behind us and added to our 35 years of experience of supporting flooring contractors on large construction projects, SASGO have been called on again for many other past and present modular construction projects by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems – Greenford Quay (Greenford), College Road (Croydon), Seven Sisters (Islington), Lewisham Exchange (Lewisham), Great Court (Bermondsey), The Valentine (Gants Hill) and more in the pipeline.
