Upper Duke Street, Liverpool
SASGO supported a national flooring contractor during the construction of a 420-unit, seven-storey student accommodation development on Upper Duke Street, Liverpool. Delivered across a live, multi-floor programme running from 2024 into 2025, the project required consistent product availability, coordinated deliveries and clear communication to help maintain progress across each phase of works.
Product Selection and Support
As the exclusive distributor of PROBOND® products, SASGO worked closely with a national flooring contractor to support the specification and supply of PROBOND® PR295, PROBOND® FL325 and PROBOND® B446.
Being directly aligned with the manufacturer enabled our team to provide informed guidance around product suitability and sequencing, ensuring the chosen system supported the contractor’s installation programme. Clear technical advice at the outset helped remove uncertainty and allowed works to progress without unnecessary delays.
Logistics and Site Practicalities

Operating across seven floors within a tight city-centre footprint brought a number of practical constraints. Restricted access routes, limited storage space and narrow internal doorways meant that material handling needed to be carefully considered from the outset. Without the right preparation, unnecessary double handling and bottlenecks could easily have slowed progress across multiple levels of the building.
To mitigate this, our operations team reconfigured all materials onto europallets prior to dispatch. This seemingly small adjustment made a measurable difference on site. The revised pallet format enabled smoother movement through confined access points and corridors, reduced the need for re-palletising on arrival and supported safer, more efficient vertical transportation between floors.
Deliveries were made directly to site in pre-agreed timed slots using SASGO’s own FORS Gold accredited fleet. In a busy urban location, reliability and precision are critical. On a development of this scale, where multiple trades operate concurrently, controlled scheduling and dependable transport play a key role in protecting productivity and reducing avoidable downtime.
Ongoing Effective Communication
SASGO’s Darren Thomas, Key Account Manager, remained in regular contact with the client throughout the duration of the project and beyond. Maintaining open lines of communication ensured that product requirements were anticipated, delivery schedules were aligned with programme milestones and any queries were addressed promptly.
Across the lifecycle of the Upper Duke Street development, SASGO’s focus remained consistent: provide the right products, delivered at the right time, in a format that supports efficient installation. By aligning technical expertise, operational planning and scheduled delivery, we were able to support the client in maintaining momentum across a significant multi-storey student accommodation scheme.
