This allows us to consistently make progress, and push the boundaries of what can be achieved, within the flooring and construction industry as a whole. Continually focussing on green initiatives
Sustainability is a journey. We put a great deal of store in measuring our efforts through aligning ourselves with leading sustainability bodies that demand best practice operations and waste management processes. We also know however that it is the small things that can make a massive difference from packaging choice to lighting choice. As a company we are doing all we can to have a positive impact.
SASGO Wins Prestigious International Green Apple Environmental Awards 2023
We are delighted to be a Green Apple Champion, the highest award given in the Environmental Best Practices category, from the internationally renowned Green Organisation. The Green Organisation are globally recognised for promoting environmental best practices, particularly within the built environment. We are proud to see the SASGO name being added to an number of highly recognised multi-national organisations that care about the sustainability.
What Does This Mean?
The award confirms the significance of our efforts and initiatives in communicating and leading the way as a flooring distributor in our industry. The award itself was presented in the Houses of Parliament in November 2023. The judges' comments recognised “This project implemented by SASGO Ltd, champions sustainability within the built environment, focusing on measurable impact through education, promotion, and industry alignment.” It also cements our commitment to operating in a sustainable manner through efficient practices that are aimed at reducing our carbon footprint.

In 2019, the UK Built Environment Committee set a target to reach net zero greenhouse emissions by 2050 (supporting the UN Sustainability Development Goals).
Construction is one of the main industries impacting carbon emissions globally, and currently contributes to approximately 40% of the UK’s total carbon emissions.
As an industry, we can work together towards reducing the level of emissions construction produces.
All businesses (both big and small) operating within the built environment can play a part in developing measures that help support the UN Sustainability Development Goals.
Challenging the norms
At SASGO we want to further develop our sustainability model by ensuring that our business reflects practices that can support UN SDGs and the UK's 2050 net zero greenhouse emissions targets.
As an FSC® certified company, we are able to demonstrate a chain of custody for the plywood we supply. This means that we can trace the wood in our products back to the forest it came from and ensure that all legal regulations are followed. We are annually audited by a third-party certification body to ensure that we meet the FSC®’s strict standards for responsible and sustainable forest management practice.
What does this mean for our clients?
For our clients in the flooring and construction industry, choosing FSC® certified products means they can be confident that they are supporting responsible forestry practice. Using FSC® certified plywood can also help to achieve sustainability goals and meet environmental regulations. Additionally, FSC® certified products are becoming increasingly popular with architects, designers, and builders who prioritise sustainability in their projects.
